A book about to be published by Ferry Publications that should be on all our Christmas lists for a very reasonable 22.50 + P&P

https://ferrypublications.co.uk/products/sealink-saint-class

"This book updates the stories of the four Saint Class vessels built for Sealink by Harland and Wolff. While only three of the four vessels survive, with one of the quartet heading to the scrapyard in 2021, the remaining ships continue to provide sterling service to operators in the Adriatic, on the Gibraltar Straits and in Indonesia - surely a testament to their design and construction more than four decades ago. 128 pages. Published 3rd December 2025"

Well worth ordering,  for those old enough to remember the St Christopher featured on BBC Blue Peter which had a mural designed by the programme and tracked the build and launch from H&W Belfast.

My own first memory of seeing one of the Saint Class is the St Christopher which made its debut on Rosslare Fishguard as the Stena Normandica went technical and the Christopher in port in Rosslare with its Dark Blue hull looked so different to the Normandica in its hybrid Stena/ Sealink livery.

Managed to sail on the St Christopher and St Anselm when they were the Dover Calais main vessels for Sealink, while the Rene Astrid (a sister to the Normandica) sailed Dover Zeebrugge which really helped kick started my life long interest in ferry travel.

Thanks for sharing. I hope I have managed to do the ships justice with this book, that it is enjoyable and informative for those who read it.

Looking forward to reading my copy when it arrives, decided to treat myself to Remembering the Sealink Saint Class and Ferries 2026 to get a bit more value on the postage charge.

Will be a nice evening in when they arrive.

Got my copy of Remembering the Sealink Saint Class on Saturday and all I can say is buy it, a great book for any ferry enthusiast, packed with loads of fabulous images including a couple with all four Saints together at H&W and plenty of details on the individual ferries and the changes made to them over the years.

If you have not already placed an order, just go ahead and look forward to a new year treat arriving in the post, the internet is great, but you cannot beat a book to hold in you hands and flick back and forth to compare images and details. Happy Reading.
