One thing that struck me watching these videos was how haphazard the foot passenger loading seems to be. I know its early days and the numbers are low but if they are taking foot passengers they should have a more professional routine in place.

On the plus side the St Patrick looks clean and reasonably fresh inside and both vloggers praised the staff.

Got the chance to catch up on this last night, just a couple of observations from the two Hibernia  Lines posts,

The thumbnail for the video showing the deck all patched is very unfair, they are obviously in the process of painting that area, the rest of the ferry looked very well and the interior of the AKKA was impressive, very fancy interiors.

There looked to be more traffic on the AKKA crossing but then you have to remember that it's also got the previous days St Patrick passengers & freight, would doubt the revenue on this crossing covered the fuel bill.

Food looks nice and generous , again as on St Patrick most facilities looked closed for most of the crossing, which is a sign of the low passenger numbers.

The incident with the cabin on the return crossing was not great and the company will hopefully pay attention to this, not sure how one cabin can be allocated to two different bookings and keycards issued on the same crossing, I would not have been impressed if it happened to me either. You would imagine a sheet of paper showing cabins and names of the customers allocated to them would be easy to sort.

The foot passenger arrangements are very sketchy (as also noted by CCS above) and bizarre given how much health & safety regulations exist, you cannot have foot passengers walking on/ off a ferry followed by trucks and cars, there is a reason every other ferry service either buses them on/off or use gangways, given the level of investment a minibus that drives the foot passengers from the terminal in Ringaskiddy on and drives them off at the other side, should not be impossible to arrange.

The lack of knowledge by the onboard staff as to the process for a customer coming straight back on the return crossing (a rare event as you would normally get off and not come straight back on a long crossing like this) was poor, why would you have to go through immigration when you are not staying in France, bizarre.

Work to be done by Hibernia to tweak the service levels, improve the level of competence by the on board services team, and get the basics right.
