More Interislander nonsense

Cost of not getting ferries built $222 million ! mind blowing how much money has been wasted.

Still no confirmation on any new orders, would have thought with the links they have with Stena RoRo a couple of EFlexer options at this stage, which would have been customised to their specifications would be the most cost effective way forward.

Considering that Bluebridge have two Visentini, Connemara and Livia and still have Strait Feronia available, looks like no reason for Interislander to go with bespoke designs.

True, but the moronic behaviour of the two governments is the biggest issue with this.

The first one going for a massively expensive development they didn't need and an even more stupid second shower who cancelled the ferries.

Even if they couldn't have used them, spending 200m to buy nothing is a much worse financial decision than 500m for 2 new ferries that they could have leased or sold to recoup most or all the cost.

Without Aratere they have no means of moving railway wagons between the islands.

The same shipyard in Nansha that Reederi AB Gotland and GNV have/had ferries delivered from over the years
