Stena were to get electric ferries to replace Danica and jutlandica.

The Stena Elektra project has been postponed "indefinitely" which is likely code for it isn't happening.

On Irish Ferries, nothing will change until the outworkings of the proposed management buyout are concluded which could take a significant period of time.

Time will tell. Jutlandica is due for replacement soon.

Danica will be replaced long before Jutlandica. There is nothing to say Stena is considering getting rid of her as she works well for them on that route.

There seems to be some sort of obsession with Jutlandica going to Irish Ferries which is based on nothing more than she is similar to Isle of Inishmore!

They are looking to grow their freight business. more capacity inbound.

Not using Stena Jutlandica (or Akka now for that matter) they aren't.

With Irish Ferries you will never know until last minute. The two australian sisters are a bit on the old side.

My money is on AKKA and Stena Jutlandica.

If Irish Ferries are to modernise their fleet, Stena Jutlandica is not the way to go about it. She is now 30 years old.

isle of Inishmore will probably come back to Rosslare when its time for inishfree to retire.

Isle of inisheer is a great freight vessel for Irish Ferries. I see here moving to Larne when P&O exits.

Inisheer has similar freight capacity to the European Causeway and European Highlander. She doesn't have stabilisers and is quite expensive to run (as are all those Racehorse class) so there is absolutely no reason she would move to Larne, as there is no benefit replacing one of the existing vessels with her.

Here is the announcement sent out by Stena Freight to customers:

"As you are aware we had planned on returning to our two-berth schedule at Holyhead Port this summer. However, Holyhead Port have informed us that due to a combination of factors outside of their control - including adverse weather conditions at the start of the year - the progression of planned infrastructure works has slipped behind schedule.

As a result, Stena Line has agreed to continue the one-berth operation until autumn 2026. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we have fully explored all available options. The current schedule will remain in place, and no sailings will be impacted."

Looking at Stena's freight schedule, it seems that the revised times are now in place on the Dublin-Holyhead route until 31st October. We can, therefore, assume the repairs to Terminal 5 at Holyhead are not going to be complete until then.

Hopefully the Nordica will be left in service on Rosslare Fishguard for uninterrupted service for the rest of the year.

It is reported that Stena Nautica has been sold to Eckerö.

Thanks for the update on the refits, as thought its the money already spent, hopefully they have enough left to get the Nordica's technical update done (the much rumoured gearbox replacement) and maybe even a lick of paint when its back in drydock !

One assumes this includes the refit season currently ongoing since the end of 2025 with the Adventurer in drydock for some TLC at the moment and not an additional investment to be carried out.

It's safe to say this refers to the work that has been done to the fleet over the last few months and will conclude when the Adventurer returns to service in a couple of weeks time.

It's also worth noting that the figure of £14 million or €16 million is likely to be a bit of spin as it includes technical work done to both the Superfasts, for example, as part of their 25 year surveys.
