Hi Folks,

Its been quite a few years since I've been through Rosslare port.

Is there anywhere (at the port or nearby) I can safely park my car and caravan before getting a sailing ?

Travelling on the 0900 Brittany ferry to Bilbao, driving down overnight from Derry, so could be at the port around 0430 - looking for a place to park and grab a few hours snooze.

Google maps doesn't seem to show the new port improvements, so I can't tell from that.

So far Gorey Services seems to be the favoured spot, but its still an hour away from port.

Fairy sure there are height barriers in the car park at the port, at that hour, Supervalue in the town might be the best place to park up for a few hours.

Konrose

Never thought about height barriers.

Though I'll probably be late (as usual) departing so it wont matter, I'll probably arrive for check-in !!

Also Larkins Cross Services would be another option (just outside Wexford town on the Cork Road) much closer than Gorey services.

They are due to put bollards on the main road to Kilrane / Rosslare Harbour to prevent HGV parking on the road side, but there don't seem to be any plans to allow HGV parking anywhere else (the customs building that is not longer in use would be ideal spot.)

Supervalu is a good suggestion. Or just across the road past the church should be fine for early morning parking.

Depends how long car and caravan are for parking in Supervalu.

Also Bollards have been installed today between kilrane and Rosslare Harbour, no parking on the main road for any HGV.

There's a car park at the main terminal building which is a short to long term car park afaik

That's what I was hoping to to do, but there's a suggestion that there may be a height restriction.

I'm going to aim for the supervalu and hope for the best. unless I get a reply from the port about the height restrictions.

I'm looking to park safely, responsibly and without looking like an advance party of a group of caravan dwellers!

Ideally I would come down during the day and stay in either Ferryport site in Wexford or the Rosslare site, but I cant leave until mid afternoon at the earliest, so in that case, I prefer to avoid the M1 M50 chaos!!

Konrose

Thanks everyone for your input.

Looks like travel plans have changed slightly, I will be able to leave early morning on the day before, so will book into the IOAC or Ferrybank.

Also Rosslare Europort came back to me stating that the parking has a height restriction of 2.6m, just in case anyone was wondering

Best to call the port. I think all the height barriers are gone.

I did email them, the reply I got was on 9th April saying 2.6m height restriction

I was in the port on Monday. They have some height barriers in the new car park in certain areas to stop trucks parking there. There were a few vans parked in the car park. The beach car park has much lover height restriction.
