Galicia has gone technical in Bilbao this evening with sailing potentially cancelled, passengers allowed to stay on board overnight.

Galicia still in Bilbao this morning and tonight's Rosslare crossing obviously cancelled as well.

Galicia has departed Bilbao for Rosslare on schedule this morning and running at over 20 knots so all issues must have been fixed. Due into Rosslare tomorrow at 14.30.

Met someone in Cork this evening who was on the cancelled Thursday night Galicia sailing, accommodation onboard was overnight, had to be off at 7am Friday morning and then they travelled 1000 kms to Cherbourg and got the first crossing available which was with IF into Dublin today, they got back into Cork this evening, was stunned when I showed them Galicia arrived into Rosslare early this afternoon, along with Stena Vision and Optima Seaways.(they were all in a line sailing towards Rosslare earlier)

BF were only offering refund of cancelled sailing, no offer to rebook onto next Galicia crossing as they did not know if it would be fixed, no offer to arrange onward crossings, just sort yourself out, surely a phone call to a few other ferry companies and they could have helped accommodate the passengers. Would have been surprised if the Vision from Cherbourg on Saturday was sold out (did not sail until Sunday), lesson for BF, put in place some protocols for these occasions.

BF now gone to four departures from Rosslare - Cherbourg from Monday and Five from end of November, taking up the slack from Stena's decision to remove the Vision from service.

Contentin will operate 6 days a week on Rosslare Cherbourg route. Her place on Portsmouth Le Havre will be taken by Barfleur until she is replaced by Normandie next spring.

Its not appearing on the BF passenger timetable yet so just wondering will these extra sailings be freight only?

Yes...it is showing on the freight timetable but as 5 sailings on the first week starting the 4th 3 sailings the week after that and then 2 there after...maybe they are still juggling other schedules with winter lay up etc.

One of Brittany Ferries longest running ferries the Bretagne made its final crossing last night from Portsmouth to Saint Malo.

Looks like BF have found a home for the Normandie which will be displaced from the fleet when the next E-Flexer Guillaume De Normandie arrives next spring.

Due to forecasted stormy weather Galicia, currently en route from Bilbao, will berth at Cork rather than Rosslare. She's due to arrive in Ringaskiddy at 5pm today.
